Winning the Circa Sports Million IV contest was contestant “CHIEF-3.” CHIEF-3 finished with a record of 59-26-5 for 61.5 points and narrowly edged out “SEAN 1923-2” by a half-point to get the victory. The win earned CHIEF-3 the contest’s $1,000,000 first-place prize.
Contestant CHIEF-3 was a group of four men from Michigan. Brian Koestering was the lead and he had Anthony Coratti, Zack Zoltowski, and John Miller alongside him for the ride. Koestering, Coratti, and Zoltowski are brothers-in-law, and Miller is a mutual friend. The team topped the record Circa Sports Million field size of 4,691 entries.
CHIEF-3 also tied for the best record in the final quarter of the contest season to win an additional $105,000.
Although Circa Sports Million IV drew its largest field size ever at 4,691 entries (Circa Sports Million I had 1,875 entries, Circa Sports Million II had 3,148 entries, and Circa Sports Million III had 4,087 entries), the contest fell short of hitting its $6,000,000 prize pool guarantee. At a buy-in of $1,000, the 4,681 entries accounted for $4,691,000 of the prize pool to leave a $1,309,000 overlay.

With one week remaining in the Circa Sports Million IV contest, CHIEF-3 was in a three-way tie for second place and a point off the lead. Leading into the final week was “ENUT34-1.” After finishing Week 16 and Week 17 in first place, ENUT34-1 went 2-3 in the final week and slipped out of first place. CHIEF-3 scored a 4-1 result and was able to claim the top spot.
In fact, the Circa Sports Million IV top spot came down to the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers game. CHIEF-3 had picked their local team as underdogs, going with the Lions (+4.5). ENUT34-1 had the other side, the Packers. The Lions not only covered but they won the game outright and gave ENUT34-1 the $1,000,000 victory.
The Lions cover also allowed contestant “SEAN 1923-2” to jump into second place and win $500,000. ENUT34-1 ended up finishing third for $400,000.

The season-long leaderboard prizes weren’t the only prizes won in the Circa Sports Million IV contest.
