The numbers are in for the 2023 Circa Survivor field size. With 9,267 entries, the fourth edition of the Circa Survivor contest will award a staggering $9,267,000 in prize money.
Each entry costs $1,000, with 100% of the buy-in going into the prize pool. As this is a survivor contest, the season could result in a single contestant winning all $9,267,000. That contestant would likely have to go a perfect 20-0 while also fading anyone else reaching the end with a perfect undefeated record.
This is the largest field size that the Circa Survivor contest has produced in its four-year existence, and the 2023 prize pool smashed the $8,000,000 guarantee that Circa Sports put on the contest.
In 2020, the first-ever Circa Survivor contest had 1,390 entries and resulted in 35 contestants chopping the prize pool. The next year, in 2021, the field size ballooned to 4,080 entries and five contestants banked more than $1,000,000 each. In 2022, it was another big jump in entries as the number climbed to 6,133 entries. Two contestants survived them all to take home more than $3,000,000 apiece.
Jumping from last year’s 6,133 entries to this year’s 9,267 entries represents a 51.1% increase in field size.
Contestants were allowed a maximum of 10 entries in the 2023 Circa Survivor, but they were allowed to rebuy if they played a selection on the opening Thursday night game and that pick lost. For 2023, that means anyone who selected the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL season opener would be allowed to reenter as long as they did so by the Saturday deadline (2 p.m. PT).
