Nearly 2,000 Entries Eliminated In Week 1 of 2023 Circa Survivor

The first week of the record-setting 2023 Circa Survivor saw nearly 2,000 entries get eliminated, thanks most in part to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeating the Minnesota Vikings.

Circa Survivor attracted its largest field ever in 2023, with 9,267 entries of $1,000 each generating a prize pool of $9,267,000. Through Week 1, 1,992 entries have been eliminated. The Vikings losing to the Buccaneers caused the biggest chunk of losses, as 1,044 entries were on the Vikings. The next largest chunk came from the Seattle Seahawks losing to the Los Angeles Rams. There were 600 selections on the Seahawks. Coincidentally, the Vikings and Seahawks were both home favorites to open the season. The Vikings were the third most popular team in Week 1, and the Seahawks were the fourth most popular pick.

The only teams with more Week 1 Circa Survivor picks were the Washington Commanders (3,549) and Baltimore Ravens (2,985). Both the Commanders and Ravens got the job done in Week 1. There were also 31 entries that failed to submit a Circa Survivor pick in Week 1, and those entries were automatically eliminated.
